8 weeks to a better me | week 2: health and fitness

okay, so if you missed it last week, i decided to participate in dani's "8 weeks to a better me" project over at sometimes sweet. each week has a theme, last week's theme was blogging inspiration. this week, health and fitness.

i can't say my first week was a total failure. although i didn't blog about them (yet!), i did think about my goals quite a bit. i did snap a few photos to meet my "the small things" goal, and i had planned to go to our local meet in the street street fair and was excited to share it with you, but that idea was a fail. then my last goal of creating a list of places someone who was not from around here was written on paper but never made it to a post.

so, all in all, i don't feel like a complete slacker. AND, i did create a little to do list small baby step goals to keep me feeling motivated and at the same time feeling like i was accomplishing something. i am happy to report that that list was a total win.

how?  well, i started reading a book. i haven't read a book that wasn't a school book in at least 6 months. i also planted my veggies in their starter cups, i cleaned out my disgusting mom mobile (aka, my minivan. i took a toothbrush to that baby, and it looks like new), and i took apart my kids' trampoline and tossed it in the trash (some of the spring were broken...not safe at all!).

it really feels good to get off my butt and get something done. i was certain not to create a list that was too overwhelming.

thanks dani for your inspiration!

this week's theme is health and fitness.

three health and fitness goals for this week:
  1. find out what your limit is, and push yourself further - workout at least five days. get up early at least 2 days and workout in the morning.
  2. be nice to yourself - set aside some time to take a bath instead of taking a shower. drink only water all week.
  3. mix it up - use my wii fit or xbox kinect for at least one workout. split my workouts up (30 minutes twice a day, 15 minutes four times a day, whatever works best) to fit my busy schedule.
