my top 3 tuesday - scents (there's a super simple recipe here)

i just realized as i was putting this list together that my favorite scents all have to do with summer.  my favorite time of year is definitely when i can get outside and enjoy the warm weather.  as summer turns into fall, i start to get a little sad.  this summer definitely flew by. 

vanilla- i just love, love, love the bath & body works scent, warm sugar vanilla. the first time i used it was at the beach. i was camping at the outer banks and i was showering in one of those gross outhouses and was in desperate need of this shower.  it was just the perfect scent for that moment and i have loved it ever since.

i've never tried this but i bet it is great! let me know if you have tried it and what you think of it.

lemon or lime- anything and everything lemon or lime. lemonade, limeade, lemon candy, lemon in my tea, lime in my corona, fresh cut lemons and limes, coconut lime verbena, i love the flavor and the scent.  this super simple recipe is just the best. you should try it. it smells amazing!

honey lime chicken

 1/2 cup honey

6 tbsp. lime juice (approx. 3 limes)

1/4 soy sauce

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

put ingredients in a container with a lid and marinate for 1 hr. pour all ingredients into a baking dish and bake for 40 min. or until chicken is cooked. serve with your favorite side dishes.

sunscreen or suntan lotion- once again, a summer scent.  i have been carrying a bottle of baby sunscreen in my purse all summer. it just ended up in there and one day i went to take it out and got a sniff of it's smell permeating from my purse and decided i would just leave it in there. 

I have tried a large variety of sunscreens and they all smell very similar, but I prefer these two the best for protection:

banana boat baby sunblock, tear free, spf 50 - 8oz {$9.99}

I love this sunscreen because it has been the only sunscreen that i have been able to find that is tear free and actually works. a mishap this summer is what sent me on a mission to find the very best tear free sunscreen without having to sell a child to afford it.  this is great for the whole body, but i use this for the face and ears:

neutrogena pure & free baby sunblock lotion with purescreen - spf 60+ {$9.35}
