spinner's grill

 spinners 4

last weekend, for elijah's birthday, we wanted to take him somewhere we had never been before. in addition to it being somewhere we had never eaten, we still wanted it to fit within our budget, and be family friendly. one of the first places that came to mind was spinner's grill, a small place near our house that we always bring up when considering where to eat, but had always chosen somewhere else. so yeah, we finally convinced ourselves it was time to go.

i really don't know why we had been putting it off. it is such a family friendly place with a fun 60's, 70's and 80's theme that focused around music of those eras. the menu is typical diner food, mostly consisting of hamburgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches, and wraps, and the prices are awesome. our bill came to around $40 for six people.

i wouldn't say they have the best food in town, but i honestly have no complaints about any of the food we ate and would certainly recommend this place to anyone. their portions are huge, even on the kids menu. phoenix ordered a hot dog meal that came with a bun length hot dog and fries. definitely enough for even an adult. and as for elijah, he gives spinner's grill two th, umm... feet up!

UntitledShould we try the burger challenge
too?My first cheat meal since I changed my
eating habits and I feel guilty and like crap after eating it. It was
only a club sandwich and fries but it was just too much food. I only ate
half of it but still feel my insides churning.

wordish wednesday | WELCOME TO... our funny play on words!

so, we asked ryan where he wanted to go for his birthday and he said he wanted to go to "moses".
i nearly fell in the floor laughing.

and, of course, i act like i don't know what he is talking about just so i can hear him say it again.

moe's...we keep this place in biz-nass!

we even made our own moe's game. once, when phoenix just started learning rhyming words at school, we tried to come up with every word that rhymes with moe's by saying "welcome to ______!" (fill in the blank with the word that rhymes with moe's.

are we cool or what?

"welcome to grows!"
"welcome to blows!"
"welcome to LOWES!"
"welcome to close!"
"welcome to nose!"
"welcome to toes!"
"welcome to rows!"
"welcome to flows!"

okay, you get the idea.

welcome to moses

and of course, while we ate tacos, nachos, burritos, and quesadillas, elijah ate cookies. he is going through a phase. it's frustrating!

i do love how he throws his hands in the air when he is finished and says "all gone!"

and backing up, i also love that as children learn language, they don't always get things right.

in our house we have heard the following:

moses = MOE'S
vermote = remote (as in the tv "vermote")
enballope = envelope
gas bump = gas pump
licks glop = lip gloss
mrs. eggwarts = mrs. edwards (phoenix's TA)

just to name a few.

what are some funny things your kids say?

$1 Halloween Coupon Booklets

No comments:
Both McDonald's and Wendy's are now selling their $1 Halloween coupon books. These make great handouts to Trick-or Treaters or to keep for yourself.

Here is what you will get for $1 per book.
McDonald's:
4 coupons for a free pack of apple dippers
4 coupons for a free soft serve icecream cone
4 coupons for a free juice or milk
Wendy's:
10 coupons for a free Jr. Frosty

I am definitely taking advantage of these to keep for my kids. I need 5 of each for each of my older children. Thats $112 value in coupons for only $10. Great for a quick snack on the go!

Boston Market: Two Kids Eat Free

No comments:
Boston Market has a really great deal going on until October 31, where 2 kids eat FREE with every $6 adult purchase. I just recently got to do a review of Boston Market through BzzAgent and I was very pleased with the food as well as the service of the restaurant. I hadn't been to Boston Market in several years (just because it is not convenient to my house) and had forgotten how yummy the food is. I have always heard mixed opinions about Boston Market, but I must say I enjoyed their food. I also love this deal! As you know, Jason and I are the parents of six little cherries, which means we would get four kid sized meals free. Now if we could find one of our single, childless friends to drag along with us, we would have them all covered.
