what i ate yesterday

very recently, i have been trying to make some changes in what i eat to hopefully get myself on the right path to losing weight. in an effort to do so, i will be randomly posting some of the food i have been eating.

i have seen several people, including jess over at irocksowhat, start food journals. however, my life is so chaotic most days that i am not going to make the commitment to start one of my own. i would just be setting myself up for failure. the last thing i need right now while i am losing weight is to feel awful about myself or guilty for my failures. i am an emotional eater.

i used to have a series called fat butt friday that you may remember and that was a super huge failure as well. i posted here on my blog every friday, and although it was packed with lots of helpful information, i was doing it all at a stressful time when jason was unemployed, money was tight, and i was working and wanting to be at home. so...i ate. and ate. and ate. and although i didn't really gain weight, i certainly didn't lose any either.

but, i think if i take it slow and set small reasonable goals for myself, i may do well.

right now, my first small goal is to drink only water, unsweet tea, and black coffee. believe it or not, the water will be the hardest for me. i already drink unsweet tea and black coffee.

yesterday for lunch, i ate a tuna and lettuce stuffed whole grain pita. the tuna had some mustard mixed in it only.

i always make sure i read the labels of breads because just because it says whole wheat or whole grain, sometimes the flour is bleached. i make sure it is unbleached.

lunch on may 9

on the side was cantaloupe and cherry tomatoes.

for dinner, i ate this southwest pot pie, a recipe from the new e-mealz program i have been using. it is a recipe from their portion control plan.

dinner on may 9

on the side was romaine lettuce with bacon bits and a whole carrot. NO dressing, just a pinch of natural sea salt. i like dressing, but i have found that when i add the bacon, i don't need dressing. it tastes really good without it.

and, if you are curious about what i ate for breakfast, it was one slice of potato bread (toasted with nothing on it) and 5 strawberries. sorry friends, i just can't give up bread. i may find later on that i will have to go there, but i just can't right now.

fyi! e-mealz is NOT a diet/weight loss program. it is a meal planning program that takes the guesswork out of trying to figure out what you are going to eat for dinner. i will talk more about e-mealz later this week.

also... DON'T FORGET!

i have a giveaway going on right now that i would love for you to enter. just click HERE for your chance to win 24 party invitations from pear tree greetings. these would be great for a big fourth of july cookout this summer!
