sweet stuff sunday - jeans

there is one thing about the fall and winter that i love most...JEANS!

let me be honest. in no way do i ever like to dress up, and jeans are my very best winter friend. dress them up or down.

no matter how skinny or how voluptuous you are. and of course you kinda need to be up with the times and down with the fashions.

real 80's jeans...ugh!

the new 80's jeans...oh yeah!

so here are some great finds i've made recently and some that i have already started to add to my fall collection this year.  please be advised, i am not a fashionista, but i try to stay informed and i know what i like.

1. jeggings - i found a pair of these for Mack at kohl's right before school started and she loves them. and i loved them so much i wanted a pair.

this is the pair i purchased.

2. hem gems - these are awesome! since i am a shortie, these are perfect for when i purchase a pair of jeans at a store where there is no length option.  they are also perfect for little bits like my Tyler, who is a 5T in width, but a 3T in length. she's a shorty like her mama.  i want some of these!

3. ripped jeans - this is something that i was "torn" about.  i am in my 30's now and didn't know if i would be able to pull off this look without looking like a trashy unfit mom.  i went for it anyway and so far i think it works for me. the important thing to remember is to NOT wear your totally worn out favorite AC/DC t-shirt with them.

unless that is the look you are going for.  and in that case...ROCK ON!

i personally try to save the old raggedy t-shirts for at home as much as i can.

this is more like what i might wear out.  here is a look i created using polyvore. (fyi: the last one is a placemat, but i would so love to find something similar in a smaller version for a hair piece)

Derek Lam Boat neck jacket with length sleeves
$1,050 - brownsfashion.com  (i will not be buying this item anytime soon, but i do love it!)
Cardigan jacket »

Kim Seybert Markham Capiz Placemat
$88 - barneys.com

I would totally try to pair this outfit with a scarf that incorporates some similar colors including that peacock green color.  love this!

and by the way...i don't wear heels.  i know i should since i am short, but one good face smack to the floor, trying to chase kids, is all it takes to stay away from those as much as possible!
