I have been on a roll with the Wii Fit. {I love it!} I have several games that I have been using and it is so fun sometimes that I forget that I am even working out.
I actually have the Wii Fit Plus. I am not sure how it differs from the original Wii Fit, but I love how I can take a body test every time I use it, which tests my BMI, weight, and balance. It keeps record of every time you work out, the length of time you have worked out, and a chart so you are able to see your results. I am a very visual person so charts and graphs are my friend.
So far, one very important thing I have learned is how to calculate my own calories burned. It was briefly explained on the Wii Fit, but I can NOT for the life of me figure out how I can get it to go back over this helpful bit of info, so I Google'd it.
HERE at Spark People, I found a calorie calculator that helps you determine the number of calories burned based on the type of workout you do. I figured there was a formula for this, but I never really looked it up before because I never really cared. But, now that I am trying to live a healthier lifestyle of diet and exercise, I am much more interested in these types of things.
Know what is fun to me? If I know I am having dessert or baking some yummy sweets, I can just work it off according to the number of calories. I don't know if it really works like that, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Maybe if I make myself work off a bowl of my favorite ice cream with yummy toppings, then I will think twice about eating it next time. I don't even want to think about how long it would take me to work off the bowl of ice cream I am visualizing in my head.
I do enjoy using the Wii however, I do like to try a variety of workouts to change it up a bit. Using this calorie calculator will help a lot!
