"One of my New Year's wishes was to shed some of the weight I had gained during my pregnancy with Little Monster, and so in my attempt to do so, I felt it was harder to hide late night snacking and lack of motivation if I put myself on the line and in the spotlight. Every Friday, I will be sharing my weight loss journey (including my successes and failures), as well as delicious recipes, meal ideas, and exercise suggestions. Join me if you accept the challenge to lose weight and gain a healthier life! (Don't forget to grab my button in the sidebar)"
I won't say it was a bad week, but I can't very well admit to working out every day either. However, I did keep busy outside with the kids in the snow on Monday, and I did work out for 2 other days. And...I am still on track with my goal of 5 lbs. every month, losing 1 pound so far this month.
I always think that I am doing a great job eating healthy, but I often wonder if maybe I am taking in too many calories. I found two great sites that will help you keep up with your progress, as well as a site that helps you figure out the number of calories are in an item that you may make from scratch. The other night we had homemade stir fry and although it was filled with veggies, I still wondered how many calories were in it and how big of a portion one serving would be.
The first site is SparkPeople, which is a totally free site, and it is great for creating a personalized diet and excercise plan, keeping up with foods eaten and water intake each day, plus many other things.
The other site is Calorie Counter. It has some features similar to SparkPeople, but what I like is that it has a spot where you can enter a recipe and it will tell you how many calories per serving it has. That is great for something like that stir fry we had.
Be sure to check out both of those sites!
