I've been a busy mama making some yummy baby food for {little Elijah} today. He is starting to eat more and more each day and, I like for him to have a variety of different foods.

I especially enjoy making him foods that are uncommon. During this past fall, I made some pumpkin varieties of baby food for Elijah but now I am trying other things. Today, I made avocado banana but, I am thinking of doing a little research to find out what other items I can cook up and serve to my sweet growing boy. I have found the site wholesomebabyfood.com to be very helpful. There are many yummy recipes for a variety of baby food combos and even a recipe for rice cereal and oatmeal.

It was extremely simple to make this food for him. I filled a blender with ripe avocado and banana and added a little water to thin it out. The water is added to puree it well. The more water you add the thinner the baby food. The less you add the chunkier. For now I am making it thin, just like what comes in a stage 2 jar at the market. Once you have filled the blender, puree for about 2 minutes to your baby's liking.

I used empty store bought baby food jars that I had collected to store the baby food. Before filling them with the food, I removed all labels and boiled the jars in a large pot to sterilize them. I boiled them for about 10-15 minutes. After that time, I removed them from the pot and placed them on a drying rack until all water had evaporated.

I filled the jars almost full by piping the food into the jar and then placed them in my deep freezer. I just pop one of the jars out of the freezer to thaw the day I am going to use it.
