Mini Style | Blue Jean Baby

ministyle-phoenix1

It is definitely showing signs of warmer weather, but there are still some chilly days mixed in as well. I really don't like those kind of days because I never seem to manage the right outfit for the weather. Both Phoenix and Tyler have these really great jean jackets that I love seeing them wear. I have actually been wanting a jean jacket for myself as well, but I just can't seem to find the perfect one for me.

Mini Style | Little Miss Sassy Skirt

We all know Tyler is my girly girl, but what you may not know about her is that she also has a horrible temper and can be one heck of a handful. She pretty much does her own thing because there is no changing her mind when she is determined to do something. If I am being completely honest, I am already scared of the teenage Tyler I will have to deal with. Just maybe, I will get lucky and she will mellow out some before then.

But of course, Tyler isn't always a tough girl. We love to paint our nails, put on make up together, and do each other's hair. And like always, she will pick a skirt or a dress over a pair of pants or shorts. She played soccer in this same outfit later on, and then dug in the dirt and searched for clovers shortly after that. And later on, when we went inside, she smelled like sweat and dirt. Ha!

Mini Style | Long Hair, Don't Care

MiniStyleTyler1

It has been pretty nice outside for the last several days and we have taken full advantage of it by getting outside as much as possible. Amongst our busy weekend, we even made it out to my Dad's house. We always love going to Poppy's house because he has a great yard for playing in. We spend a lot of time out there in the Summer, cooking out, chalking in the driveway, and eating lots of popsicles and ice-cream sandwiches. Even this past weekend, the kids got to enjoy a small taste of what's to come this Spring and Summer.

This is the same house my Dad has ever lived in, he built it right after I was born, so I have spent my entire life playing in this yard and in this driveway. I love that I can share it with my own children now.

Polka dot shirt: Target, $8
Skirt: Old Navy (many years ago... it used to be Mackenzie's), $?
Leggings: Walmart, $3
Boots: Kohl's, $19.99
Belt: Thrifted, $1

This is an outfit that Tyler put together. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, I just like to put that out there because there are times when I do make "suggestions" or put together some of her outfits. I don't do that often though.

Can I just point out how long my baby girl's hair is getting? She absolutely refuses to get it cut. Not that I want it cut, but I often give her the option to get it cut, when I am cutting Phoenix's hair, only if she wants and she always says "NO".  I've said it before, but I love how incredibly girly she is.

Mini Style | She Wears Her Heart on Her... Jeans!

Well, it's freaking snowing again! That's that, I hate snow, and the kids are out of school again! They haven't been to school for a full week since before Christmas. I want my schedule back, and actually, the kids do too.

My poor girl was freezing! I just wanted to document the snow, so we were only out there for a couple of minutes without any snow gear. When I asked Phoenix what her favorite thing about the snow was, she told me it was building snowmen. She then promptly told me that bananas are grown in South America. Ha! My sweet girl is a bit random like that.

Mini Style | The Cat's Meow

Oh my goodness, snow , snow, snow! I took this photo last week when it snowed, but this morning we woke up to another 4 inches. Ugh! I have never been a big fan of the snow and the cold and winter in general. Give me all the warm sun and margaritas!

Lately, I have been buying a lot more of Phoenix, Tyler, and Elijah's clothes at Target. They have had some of the cutest stuff there that I haven't been able to pass up. I had been wanting to get both Phoenix and Tyler a jean jacket so when I saw these at Target, I quickly threw them in my cart, along with these jeans. I got a few other pairs of jeans as well, all with adorable prints and patterns on them. I am such a sucker for kid's clothes!

I found this kitty hat by accident at Walmart, last winter, and had to get it because Phoenix loves cats and dogs so much. We can't go anywhere without having to pet the dogs or chase the cats! She won't wear any other hat, so it's been worn a ton! Definitely one of the few things I have ever purchased at Walmart that didn't fall apart.

I almost always spend a little extra when it comes to shoes. Kids are already rough on shoes and cheap shoes last just a couple of weeks with my kids. Phoenix wanted a pink pair of high top Converse, but when we went shopping, they only had them in a couple colors that she didn't like so she chose the low top style instead. Phoenix is definitely my tom boy, and hates to wear dresses, but this adorable outfit has become one of her favorites lately.
