this week is...

finally over!

phoenix had a doctor's appointment, mackenzie had two doctor's appointments, and elijah had a doctor's appointment also.  that was just on monday!

jason has been out of town all week and i haven't even gone to the bathroom alone.

oh, and it snowed today!

christmas 2008

this photo session at a local studio was actually a nightmare!  i was pregnant with elijah, so i was more than irritated with every thing and every body. and getting everyone to look at the camera and smile was almost impossible.  nearly all of the photos looked just like this one. i know they were glad when we left because the kids were everywhere and i was less than happy with how our photos turned out.  i still purchased some of the photos so that we would at least have our photos for that year, but i didn't like it. and that is when i decided i would never go to another studio and take our photos myself.

friday, i have never been so happy to see you!

yes, i stay at home, but weekends don't require me to get up so early and spend half of my day shuttling kids back and forth to school.

i don't actually get to sleep in, i just get to ignore the kids for a little longer.

1. hanging out on the couch. it's what i do best!
2. the drive home from dropping the kids off at school.
3. elijah is totally rockin' big sissy's red heart sunglasses.
4. i don't know why, but i love these berries i have up for decoration in my home.
5. i love this santa too. he is dressed all in white.
6. she seriously thinks she is famous!
7. the sun that shines in my face every morning making the drive almost impossible
8. just me!

1.   I wish  santa was more than just real in my heart. then he could be the one to give phoenix and tyler that lump of coal they definitely deserve this year. i just don't have it in me to do it.

2.  Yesterday I  ate mexican food twice and wore the same sweatshirt that my dad gave me for the third day in a row. i can't help it. it's so comfy. no i am not wearing it today.

3.  Today I will  clean up this house so that my friends who are stopping by won't think less of me.

4.  Tomorrow I will   take my children to stay with their grandparents so i can go to a carolina panthers football game on sunday in the rain.

5.  Maybe  i will get lucky and win the lottery today. i guess i would have to actually play first.

6.  Someday   i will be able to sleep past 6 a.m. again. not someday soon.

7.  I love  that i am a mother of six children.

i am sick! 

sick, sick, sick! 

i have some kind of awful crud that just won't go away.

it started last weekend with a scratchy throat. then i lost my voice, and then i got it back, and then it went away again, and now i am hoarse at random times throughout the day. i feel like i have cotton shoved up into my sinus cavities and my throat is raw.

i managed to run out to lowes this morning because i wanted to buy an artificial tree for my dining room corner. i saw the tree i wanted there while we were buying our new dishwasher the other day.

when i got there it had been marked up from the $15 it was the day i saw it to $22 dollars, and i must have been in some kind of medicated stupor because the tree was nothing like i remembered it the other day.

maybe i should go check to see what that dishwasher i bought looks like again!

needless to say, i didn't get it. i should have snapped a shot of that tree but i got this one of elijah and tyler instead for fun phone photo friday over at webbisodes. elijah was in such awe over the christmas trees. he was such a little bit this time last year.

this weekend i am going to enjoy some much needed rest!
