busy life

one of these days i will leave my blog header alone.

on the other hand, life has kept me busy this week.  on tuesday, i got my hair done. i went back to my natural color and got a cut that i love. mackenzie got her hair cut too and she has a new found sass that i am not sure i enjoy too much.  dare i say she is a little annoying?!  maybe a tad.

i also got outside to enjoy the bright sunshine. although cold, the sun was shining so bright. i can't say enough how about how much i miss warm weather.

yesterday was doctor day. here is a perfect example of how even with six children i still have moments where i am not sure. i had to seek advice from a child therapist for handling tyler's behavior. together we are going to work on appropriate disciplinary techniques as well as other ways to encourage positive behavior. i'll let you know how that goes.

the rest of the day went something like this...

flu shots, early school release, and a trip to kohl's.  

mackenzie needed new clothes to go with her new hair and attitude. tyler wanted more shoes of course, and phoenix followed her lead with a pair of moccasin shoes. i was just happy to leave with my sanity.

i pretty much followed ashley's steps mostly in the first edit but added a couple steps from the second, adjusting to my photos preferences except for the BLACK AND WHITE adjustment layer. and i did not add an action because i just didn't feel it needed one.  

the yellow on his coat was a pain in my aunt susie's smile because every time i made an adjustment to brighten the yellow, it would redden his face. i finally used the dodge tool to soften his face but still keep the yellow as i wanted it.

i wish i could have brightened his eyes but the poor child squints just like this when he smiles. every time! drives me crazy because he does have some gorgeous eyes.

for this to be north carolina, this was a pretty big snow, which equals a pretty awesome winter for us.

awesome enough for snowballs and snowmen!

except for mackenzie, the kids had never seen a big snow, so of course everyone was excited to get out in it.
