52 Weeks of Jason Wk. 16 & Wk. 17

IMG_1456

I knew eventually I would fall behind with this, but I am trying my hardest to stay caught up. Honestly, I don't like posting on the weekends, and earlier this year, I got myself into a bind, by filling my weekends with posts, so I think I am going to change the day, as to give myself a break.

Another thing is, Jason really isn't here a whole lot lately. He was gone for a month, gone this past weekend, and will be gone again here in a couple of weeks again. I originally wanted to share quality photos of my handsome guy, but these days, it's all I can do just to get an iPhone photo of him. Therefor, I'm just have to take what I can get.

The first photo was taken a few weeks ago at a military families appreciation day. It really was a wonderful event, with activities for the kids, food, and even giveaways and free stuff. There's not much else better than free, am I right?

We also got the opportunity to go to Phoenix's, our middle daughter, school play one night as well. Kinda like a mini date for us to be able to sit alone in the crowd without wrangling kids or having to get up to take someone to the potty.

Jason and I are different in a whole lot of ways, but a few things that we have in common are...

  • we both LOVE sushi.
  • we are both born the same month and year.
  • we love and drink tons of coffee.

Believe it or not, that's all I got right now! We are THAT different! Ha!

Are you and your better half a lot alike or very different?

52 Weeks of Jason Wk. 15

sgtmoore

I am playing a bit of catch up here since I was behind with everything that went on last week, so you will see two posts this week.

I came across this photo I took of Jason and wanted to share it. Jason takes this uniform and his position in the military seriously. He is definitely a hard working man, not just because he has to support his family at home, but because he takes pride in defending our country.

I can hardly believe that I get to call this hard working man, mine!

52 Weeks of Jason Wk. 14

CMR-RaleighNC-20376

I shared this photo of Jason the other day from the Color Me Rad 5k that Jason and I ran together, but I wanted to share it again. I love that we have a love for running in common because it means we always have something to talk about besides the kids and all the work issues that I sometimes have no idea what he is talking about. We both get excited about runs that we would like to participate in and have even talked about our first 1/2 marathon. Originally it was something to work toward in maybe a year or more but, it just may be something we start training for sooner than we had planned!

What is something you and your significant other enjoy together?

52 Weeks of Jason Wk. 13

Untitled

This photo was taken the day of Jason's graduation from CBRN academy this past Monday. We are so proud of the hard work he put forth while he was gone and certainly missed him as well.  But we are definitely glad he is now back home with us.

If you don't remember, Jason also works for DirecTV, which he will be returning to for awhile, starting next week. It's been quite a while since we have had a somewhat normal schedule so it will be nice to wake up to him every morning and see him come home every night.

52 Weeks of Jason | Wk. 12

This is actually a recent photo of Jason that he sent to me just a few days ago. We are definitely looking forward to him coming home on Tuesday! Attending CBRN school is just another amazing accomplishment of his and I am so proud. I shared a list of 22 Things Jason Has Done back in 2011, so if you are new around here, or missed it back then, be sure to check it out!

52 Weeks of Jason | Wk. 11

Jason and Mack

If you missed me saying it the last couple of weeks, Jason is currently in Missouri so I have been sharing some flashback photos while he is away.

I love this old photo from when Jason took Mackenzie to the turkey shoot at a local 4th of July celebration, to shoot a real gun for the first time. Jason was such a proud Dad as he talked her through, and I was the proud Mom standing on the side lines taking the photo.

52 Weeks of Jason | Wk. 10

Like I mentioned last week, the next few weeks, I will be sharing old pictures of Jason, since he is in Missouri right now.

This is a photo I found from our zoo trip in 2009. Jason is definitely a family man, and one thing for sure about us, we love spending time with our kids. Even Jason would tell you that we would much rather plan a trip for us as a family then one alone with just the two of us. We actually purchased passes last year that allows us into almost all zoos, museums, and aquariums across the country. I doubt we will be venturing far from home just to go to a zoo, but I love that we can perhaps travel into Virginia or South Carolina to visit some of the ones we have never been to.

52 Weeks of Jason | Wk. 9

HighSchoolJason

As some of you may know, Jason is at CBRN academy right now, which means I won't have any new photos of him unless he actually takes them and sends them to me. And, since he has ZERO days off for the next month, and hardly any time to be capturing selfies, I decided to share some old photos with you for the next few weeks.

I came across this doozy, Thursday, when someone tagged Jason in this old photo of him in high school. I have no idea what grade he was in, or what the heck is going on here, but I would love to hear the story, probably just as much as you would.

Oh, and if you couldn't pick him out, Jason is the one in the red hat!

52 Weeks of Jason | Wk. 8

Untitled

This handsome man leaves for Missouri to attend a CBRN academy, that will also put him on the path to moving up a rank. He will be gone for a month, which in the overall scheme of things, really isn't that long.

Since he will be driving, I thought it would be fun to give you an insight to what it will probably be like to ride on this road trip with him...
  • He will probably be drinking either coffee or Dr. Pepper.
  • He will definitely have a bag of cheddar flavored Combos.
  • You will have to endure listening to him sing the songs on the 80's rock Pandora channel.
  • Or listen to him laugh his ass to stand up comedy on Pandora (he kinda loves Daniel Tosh).
  • And since he knows how much I love my pictures, he has told me he will stop at "all the places" for photos to send back.

Please pray for his trouble free travels and a safe return as he makes this journey. Thanks!

52 Weeks of Jason | Wk. 7

52weeksofjason7

This photo was actually taken today while we were Geocaching. This is an activity that we absolutely love as a family and since it was a gorgeous day and we spent the first half of our day doing indoor activities, we decided it was time to get outside. This photo was taken during one of the more challenging hunts. We were so close to giving up when suddenly Tyler was the one to find the cache. Daddy was so proud of his little Princess.

52 Weeks of Jason | Wk. 6

52 weeks of Jason - 6

When it comes to our phones, sadly both Jason and I both have addictions to them. However, if you were to compare the apps we have, we have a few different interests, so I decided to share Jason's top 5 apps for iPhone.

I also thought it would be fun for me to take a guess at what he will say beforehand, to see how well I know him. So, here are my guesses for what I think he would say are his top 5 apps (in no particular order):

1. Facebook
2. IMDB
3. Some type of news app
4. Candy Crush
5. Pandora

Jason's Top 5 favorite apps for iPhone:

1. Facebook
2. TV Guide
3. IMDB
4. Fox News
5. Instagram

What are some of your guy's favorite apps?

52 Weeks of Jason | Wk. 5

52 weeks of Jason - 5

Jason truly is an amazing Dad. My girls, especially Phoenix and Tyler who know no other dad, loved him immediately, and Jason took on the daddy role as if they were his own, right from the start. I never approached my relationship with Jason as a quest for a "new dad" for my girls, so I got a pretty awesome deal when I discovered all of his amazing qualities, including being a wonderful father to all of our children.

Just this week, Phoenix had  her Science Fair project presentation, so we took the evening to go check out all of the other children's projects. Although Phoenix didn't win an opportunity to move on to the state level Science Fair, Jason was still a proud Daddy of her. As for that cheesy grin on his face, Tyler was behind me making silly faces and giving me bunny ears.

52 Weeks of Jason | Wk. 4

52 weeks of Jason - 4

Jason is a big gamer. Some of his favorite games to play are Call of Duty and Halo. In fact, I think those are the only games I have seen him play in the last few years. Between the two of them, there is always a new game coming out. I actually find it rather relaxing to watch him play sometimes. It's not something I get excited for, but when he does play, I have been known to sit around and watch a tad.

In this sense, Jason and I are complete opposites when it comes to video games because I haven't really played any video games, outside of Wii bowling and Xbox Kinect, since I was a child. And the few times I have played, my game of choice is always the role playing games, which I don't even think I have played any of recently either. In fact, a few months ago, I tried playing Halo with Jason and the kids and I actually had to play with the controller upside down in order to get my man to go where I wanted him to go. Ha! Those controllers are tricky!
