The Polyvore Files | Livin' it Up

I have been considering a change in our living room lately. We just bought new furniture last year, and I love the choice I made, but other than swapping it out for the old furniture we used to have, we haven't done much else to liven up the space. One thing that is completely out of our budget right now is replacing our carpet with hardwood floors. However, some other ideas, such as painting the walls with a fresh coat of white or pale gray paint is definitely in our future. This week's look is an example of how I hope to model our living room after.

The piece of furniture we currently have for our TV is an old sideboard, much different from the item I have shown here, which I will be keeping and painting antique white/ivory/off white (what the frack is the difference?).  I have been wanting to paint it for awhile, but will finally be getting around to it this summer... I hope!

As far as the walls, like I said, a light color, and I really want to keep them simple. I don't like a lot of clutter and anything else I have in the room usually has to serve a purpose. Knick knacks are a no, no in our house! The only space in our house that has a lot on the wall is right above my desk, and that's enough for me. Less clutter, less stress!
