i eat pretty well, every now and then, giving in to my temptations for a few days before finally coming back to reality and beating myself up inside for days for eating all of that junk. however, exercise was not a big part of my life. it was something i did for a day here and there, just enough to convince myself that i was doing something about my weight issues.
fast forward to now, and already i am a different person. for the first time since i quit my job last year i have truly felt a sense of accomplishment for myself.
having six children (right now only 4 while jason is out of town and the two older boys are with their nana) is not easy. i have definitely accomplished a lot as a mother, but as an individual, almost nothing for myself.
it's not a sob story, it's the truth. i love being a mother, but i am not going to lie and say it's easy.
carving out some time for myself and committing to lose weight has been the best thing i could have done for myself.
when that alarm goes off in the morning, it now means it is time to get up, take my vitamins, drink some water, and exercise. i enjoy it and look forward to it. i have even found myself wanting to do it a second time at the end of the day and therefor have added an occasional cardio routine in the afternoons as well. why deny myself and my body of something so good for it?
struggles:
the main thing i have been struggling with is eating. i am terrible about getting busy and skipping meals. in order to build up my metabolism, i know that i shouldn't miss meals, and should actually be eating more smaller meals. right now i am only eating 3 meals a day, sometimes less.
without trying to jump way into setting impossible goals for myself, i am going to start out small and make it a goal to not skip any meals this week. i will also try to incorporate some healthy snacks as well, but will mostly focus on just not missing any meals.
goals:
- eat at least 3 healthy meals and 2 healthy snacks each day ( NO SKIPPING MEALS!)
- drink at least 6 aladdin bottles of water
- add an abs workout. at least 3 days.
how did you do this week? what were your struggles and accomplishments? how has starting an exercise routine changed you? be sure to link up your post below.
next week: share a photo of an outfit that you would love to wear or get back into. it could be that cute dress have been wanting or even an old pair of jeans you love but don't quite fit back into yet.
