before and after with pixel perfect

alright, i know you've seen this photo way too many times now, but here it is again for this week's pixel perfect before and after photo challenge.

as you can see, the original photo was really dark.  the sun was right above us, but i was just over in a shaded spot, and i was angled up at his face, creating all that darkness on his face.

i used picasa to change the fill light and saturation, then i used photoshop cs2 to brighten the whole photo a little more.  i also brightened his eyes just a little. any more made it look unnatural. 

i used my nikon d3000 to capture this shot.
