10 Things on Tuesday
Posted by
Joni
1. If I'm keeping it real here, then I should tell you that I have the world's worst dry scalp during the cooler months. I usually have to use Head and Shoulders shampoo to tame the itch and the "snowfall", starting around this time every year, and if I don't, I will scratch like a mangy dog.
2. As a birthday gift to her daughter, Crystalyn over at Flavor Pink is teaching her children about the USA and each of it's states, and came up with a genius idea. She is trying to find someone from each of the 50 states to write her daughter a letter so that as they are learning about each state, she has a letter from someone who lives there. What an awesome idea, and I got to be part of it. I sent off my letter this morning along with a couple other little goodies. Talk about the best birthday ever!
3. It is Infant Loss Awareness Day and I am lighting a candle for my sweet friend, Holly and her son Liam, today! Be sure to say an little prayer and light your own candle to honor those mothers (maybe even a beautiful woman you know) who have lost a child.
4. I hit 119 lbs. the other day on the scale and was so excited. The last time I weighed 119 lbs., I was a couple months pregnant with my oldest daughter, Mackenzie. She's 15.
5. Have you seen these Hootie Hoots that Katherine, the owner of Stitched Boutique, makes! Oh my, these guys (and gals) are adorable! I love handmade dolls and would love to add one of these cuties to my collection. Did I mention my birthday is next month?
6. I have a pile of laundry that I just can't seem to get through. Holy cow, I loathe doing laundry! I should probably be doing it right now!
7. Old Navy Rockstar jeans are the perfect fit on my body! I bought 3 pairs recently and love how great they wear and feel! I need 3 more STAT!
8. Amanda and I are working together to spread encouragement and random acts of kindness until the end of the year! Are you in?
9. I love Halloween, but it wouldn't be me if I didn't admit that I miss Summer. It's my favorite time of year and I love being outside. I can honestly say that some weeks we go days upon days without venturing outside during the colder days of Fall and Winter. I just don't like it!
10. Dunkin Donuts, you have won my heart! I am absolutely in love with the Apple Pie coffee this Fall. I originally went to get the Pumpkin Spice coffee, but when I saw it was out, I picked up the apple pie flavor instead and am so glad I did.

link ♥ love & a random photo + story
Posted by
Joni
hello!
a friend of mine has been doing link love for so long now and last week i did my first link love and enjoyed it so much that i decided to share some more things i am a loving right now as i cruise through the internet. until i started doing this, i never realized how many tabs i leave open to things i click on just to daydream about. check out some of the things i have been swooning over lately.
i really want this to be my new camera for next year at water country usa. i never take my dslr because i am so afraid it will get wet.
for inspiration, i have been watching some of the videos at this site again. such a refreshing place to be.
it is the perfect time of year for this. i can't wait to make it, sit quietly, and sip it slowly, while watching a great christmas movie, next month.
this song makes me laugh, and i sure can think of a few people i would like to dedicate it to.
love this version of a bob dylan classic.
pretty sure i will buy my kids a few shirts from this site for christmas.
now, for a random photo and story.
i just might have seen my life flash before my eyes. obviously the driver stopped, because i was not harmed, but i was certainly not happy.
that fast.
some of you have occasionally emailed me or commented about some of the clothing my children wear. honestly, majority of their clothes come from one of a few places: target, old navy, and kohl's being the main ones. but there are some things that they have that have come from other places or i have refashioned something old to make it something new. however, i will randomly start adding where i have gotten some of my kids' clothing since you have asked.
got a second? i would love for you to vote for me below. thanks!

i took this photo with my BB while we were on a walk in our neighborhood. this was right before a reckless driver, who was going mach speed in a residential area, nearly ran my poor baby boy over.
tyler was standing behind me and i knew that if i just scooped elijah up and jumped out of the way, the driver would only have kept going and surely ran over tyler.
i literally had to jump in front of them both and stand between the kids and the car. i was not moving.

the driver rolled down her window and before i could chew her out, she said "oops! sorry!" and sped away.
that fast.
one last thing...

btw, in the photo above, elijah is wearing a halloween shirt i got from target.

thanks for stopping by six cherries on top. i hope you love it here.
if this is not your first time here, welcome back!
just a little about us...
we are a family of eight. jason and i and our six children. 3 boys, 3 girls. the oldest 12, the youngest 1, and everyone else in between.
we live in a small town in a little bity house that is way too small for our big family, but we make do until the time is right for us to move. i recently quit my job in early childhood education to stay at home with the kids and jason works for directv.
we are so excited about halloween because it is our favorite holiday other than christmas. every year the children dress in theme for halloween and this year they are going to be scooby doo characters.
