my closet was packed so full of gifts that it was time to finally start wrapping.
the other day, while the kiddos were at school, i moved everything (besides elijah's stuff) from the closet to the living room and started wrapping. i didn't actually finish, but i knocked out a lot of it and i can now go in and grab a clean shirt. the one i was wearing was really starting to stink.
i always try to coordinate my wrapping paper every year, so i chose red and blue paper with snowflakes and then a solid silvery glitter color. i had no idea the glitter paper was going to be such a nightmare. from the moment i opened it, glitter was EVERYWHERE!
the paper was so thick and glittery that it actually came with it's own special double sided tape strips (that i had no idea about until i found them later that night under the table) because regular tape would NOT stick. rather than fight with the glitter all day, i just decided to scratch the whole idea of even using it and just stuck to the red and blue snowflake paper.
renee actually suggested i use the paper to create other things like the super simple gift tags you see in the photos. i just used one of my giant punchers to punch the shape and then used a small hole puncher to put a hole at the top. then, finished it off with some string through the hole.
i usually do ribbons and bows too but i am going simple this year with nothing more than the tag on top. i am not in love with my wrapping paper color combo this year. i like the brown paper wrapping i have done in the past. i will probably stick to that next year.
