i am definitely seeing now how little time they have to just be a kid. the time has flown by.
mackenzie was excited to get to her school's open house so she could find out who her teachers are going to be this year and see if all of her friends are going to be in her classes. let's just say, she is ready to get back to school.
the last few years, we have offered up an incentive to get mackenzie to keep good grades all year. last year, she did fairly well all year, but unfortunately, she did not receive her "reward" because our expectations were not met.
so, you wanna know what we have "up for grabs" this year?
a nose piercing. just a little stud on the side. very little.
this is probably where you all think i am either a kick ass mom or the world's biggest idiot. i would like to think that i am pretty kick A. she likes it, i don't see anything wrong with it, so why not allow her to earn it?
mackenzie was pretty happy with her teachers for the year as well. she met her social studies teacher last year in builder's club.
quick story... he was giving blood and mackenzie talked to him while he had his blood drawn (that was kinda like her "job"; talk to the person during, then give cookies and drink after). she must have made quite an impression because he remembered her immediately and appeared to be excited to have her. in fact, his exact words were "i am so glad i have you in my class! i will just need to make sure i have my coffee before you get here!"
(if you don't already know, mackenzie has a super bubbly personality and tons of energy. oh, and she's also ADHD. you either love her or you don't. MOST people do. i know i do!)
today i meet phoenix and tyler's teachers. we'll see how that goes.

also linking up and with flip flops & pearls, angry julie monday, 5 minutes for mom, and live and love out loud
