gracie's party

gracies birthday

part of the reason, besides sickness, that i haven't been blogging as much lately is because i was busy helping my best friend amanda plan her daughter's birthday party. you know, the birthday party i didn't attend.

even though i didn't actually go to the party. i did stop by ahead of time to drop off a few things and take a few photos  while my children sat in the van ( i was totally in a hurry to do and had the settings wrong for on my camera, so excuse the blurry photos).

the cake was done by my step mother. she also made gracie's cake last year.  thank you to my step mom, brenda for making this cake. there were so many compliments about how tasty it was. i of course wouldn't know...i wasn't there!

and that princess crown on top of the cake is courtesy of storytime candles. this cute little etsy shop has a small collection of adorable candles that are perfect for birthday cakes. thank you to missi for sending us this candle.

be sure to check out storytime candles to see some of the other candles. there are a couple monster candles that i am in love with.

gracies birthday hatgracies birthday mm jars

i used heavy card stock to create gracie's hat. i used this template here and decorated it with scrapbook materials i had.

amanda collected baby food jars and filled them with m&m's.  then she used pieces of colorful fabric to cover the lids. guests were able to take these as party favors.

 gracies birthday waters

these water bottles are a super simple project that can be used for any kind of party.  i removed the labels from store bought bottles of water and replaced them with my own labels. i created these in photoshop and then printed them out on heavy card stock.  i used a small strip of clear packing tape to secure them in the back.

gracies birthday popcorn

i love this bowl!

it was given to me as a gift years ago and i always wished i had two. recently i found a second one at a goodwill store. it opens on the bottom and you can fill it with whatever you want...beads, candy, fabric pieces. i have always filled mine with candy. we filled it with m&m's for the party and used it as the popcorn serving bowl.
