my countdown to christmas | my favorite holiday tunes

the radio is currently set to our local station that plays christmas music from the day after thanksgiving until the end of christmas day.

we listen when i drive the kids to and from school and i put it on throughout the house while i am doing my chores. and although i can't say i completely dislike any particular christmas song, there are several that i love and listen out for year after year.

1. cd - anything by harry connick jr.  not only does he have an amazing voice, but he's pretty nice to look at too!
2. song - "i want a hippopotamus for christmas" by gayla peevey. my kids LOVE this song!
3. song - "celebrate me home" by kenny loggins. i don't know if this is an actual christmas song but i only ever really hear it at christmas.
4. song - "merry christmas from the family" by robert earl keene
5. song - "do you hear what i hear?"  i especially like the version by carrie underwood.

i do love all of the classics by frank sinatra and burl ives as well.
