curiosity killed the... brush? - hairfreé® brush review

show-thumb

a couple weeks ago i got my new brush in the mail.  this magical brush, hairfreé® is designed to keep hair from collecting on the bristles, which to me, is not one of those issues i ponder over, but still one of those daunting tasks that i just avoid until i just can't avoid it anymore.

really i am just a big procrastinator, that's all.  i won't do anything unless i have to. and i will most certainly wait until the last possible minute to do it. it's the plan i've always had and it seems to be working out for me. hey, i get things done.

so my hairfreé® brush came...

and tyler broke it within 10 minutes.

let me explain.

box came. opened box. took hairfreé® brush out of box. "mommy, let me brush your hair!"  mommy got fooled into giving up her brush. 4 year old with new brush. 4 year old with broken brush. curiosity killed that cat brush...TWICE!

the hairfreé® brush has plates that lift up and pulls the hairs stuck on the brush forward, making removal a cinch.

the plates just snap in and i managed to somewhat fix the brush by snapping them back in, but obviously they aren't meant to be handled very roughly because they won't stay. i can brush my hair, i can't use it's cool little feature of removing the hair, which is exactly what i could do with my old brush.

i basically have a regular brush now.

as long as i don't try to remove the hair, i am good.  but that was the exciting part and the whole reason i was so happy to get it.

the idea of the hairfreé® brush is good if it were of better quality . i just cleaned the hair from mackenzie's brush this morning and the hair removal mechanism would have been nice.

it would be nice on my new brush too!

however, i was disappointed in the quality of this new brush.

the bristles are made of plastic with none of those little plastic tip covers, so it kind of hurts. and for the obvious reason, this brush is not ideal for children because that will lever and their curiosity will break it.

the brush claims that the plates are covered in some type of ceramic coating,  I can't even tell, they just look plastic to me.

i was overall disappointed in this brush as well because it didn't stand up to what it claimed.  i really wanted this to be a great brush because it is huge and round.

although the hairfreé® brush has some flaws, i am still continuing to use it because through all of the pain and suffering i must go through with those scratchy bristles, lifting the plates slightly allows the hot air of my hair dryer to flow through it.  it gives my hair amazing body!

i love a round brush. so much easier for me!

what kind of brush do you use to style your hair?
