here at six cherries on top, i share my life stories of living as a SAHM of six children; you will find lots of photos and stories that narrate our journey. you will also enjoy my top 3 tuesday, my getting to know your child series, fat butt friday, and sweet stuff sunday.
yesterday, i shared the photos of our vacation in virginia. be sure to come back later today for part 2, as well as helpful tips on weight loss and healthy eating in fat butt friday.
here are a few little somethings i have started doing for you to catch a glimpse into my life.
past, present, future
this week: my daughter Phoenix had picture day at school. kindergarten pictures are kinda a big deal to me.
yesterday: my daughter Mackenzie joined the builder's club with her school. she is so excited to be participating in this community service like club that visits shelters, holds canned food drives, and works with the school to give back to the school and the community.
today: i am going to take that long drive to pick up two of my favorite fellas in the world. i am a step mother, but i love Ryan and Jacob just the same.
tomorrow: i am hoping that my oldest three children will be willing to help me finish up the fire pit we have been so desperately trying to rebuild. i wanna get at least one use out of it before the cold weather gets here. i am been promising s'mores for a while now.
next week: i have a major assignment due in one of my college classes that i am taking. i might want to get started on it.
the five senses
taste: coffee. it has been over a week since i have had any and it was a mighty good thing this morning.
touch: someone left the fan on above me and i can feel it blowing on me.
smell: this coffee, of course. and the cinnamon raisin bread i made for the kids this morning.
hear: the television. it is playing the movie stop loss on netflix for wii.
see: my youngest daughter, Tyler, wearing her one year old brothers jacket. it actually fits. she's either really small (which she is) or he is really big (which he is).
flashback friday
this is one of my favorite photos of Phoenix. she wasn't more than a year old and with a personality so much different than now. i remember her being such a drool queen and how surprised i was that she didn't have a long string of drool hanging off her chin in this photo. i was about 4 months pregnant with Tyler when this photo was taken.
five question friday
1. what is the first nightmare you remember?
i am sure i have had nightmares, but i am a horror movie junkie, so things like that don't actually scare me. i have never dreamed about a person's death, or anything horrible about my children or family, but i have woken up crying. don't know why though.
2. even if you're not a sports fan, what's your favorite sport to play/watch?
hockey. no question about it. i have been going since i was a young girl and i just love the thrill of it.
3. if you could pull off one piece of trendy fashion, what would you want it to be (jeggings, hats, thigh high boots, etc.)?
i am not afraid to try almost anything and think that anything can look right on someone if you wear it right. i have no desire to wear super short shorts or halter tops so pulling that off is not even a consideration. i guess i would have to say heels. i wish i could pull off chasing my kids around in them.
4. did you make good grades in school?
for the most part. i was always an A, B, C student (mostly B). on occasion i would make a D, but it was usually in math. although i am in my 30's now, i am currently getting my degree in Early Childhood Education and my grades are usually an A. go me!
5. what magazines do you subscribe to?
sadly, i am a terrible tree saver, because i subscribe to a truck load of magazines. woman's day, martha stewart living, weight watchers, town and country, good housekeeping, redbook, and nearly every parenting magazine there is...just to name a few. to justify it, i do read them and when i am done, i let my kids cut in them for arts and crafts or donate them to the preschool i used to work for.
